The Transportation Office Test Ride for Lebaran Period
The Transportation Office of Mataram started to test ride the vehicles which will be transport for Lebaran period. The test ride did in Mandalika bus station yesterday morning. In this test ride, the officer checked the physical condition of the vehicles and administration letters. The officer also rides the vehicles to check whether the equipment inside fulfill the standard of the safety. “It is for the safety of the passengers,” said the secretary of the Transportation Office named Jidardi Sentot.
Sentot explained if there is some vital equipment in the vehicles needed to be checked. Those parts are brake, wheels, spare tire, light, and the glass breaker. And also the other parts of the vehicles that guarantees the comfortable of passengers. “It is available the routine test ride for every six months, but in the few days before Lebaran period we will recheck the vehicles to make sure it is comfortable for the passengers,” he said.
For administration need, the officer checked all of the vehicle permit letters. If there is problem in the check of physical and the vehicle permit letters, the vehicles will not allowed operating until the problem solved. The test ride valid to the bus which route is Sumbawa Island, Bali and Java. Every single bus will be checked and after it is stated suitable, on its will be stick on a sticker in the front glass of the bus. “It is will be a sign of the suitable vehicles after they are pass the test,” said Sentot.
Meanwhile, the head of Mandalika bus station named Susanto said if since yesterday there is no high raising passengers. The available seat estimated has been filled 60 percent. For the example, in the vehicles which has 40 seats, the filled seat is 25-30 seats. “Usually it is full in 4 days before Lebaran,” he said. They choose to go home earlier avoiding the traffic jam at Lebaran period.
