Senggigi Lombok gaining trust as the host of Indonesia MICE & Corporate Travel Mart (IMCTM) 2010, an annual meeting between corporations, travel agents with resort parties that will be held May 6-9 2010.The third event of MICE executives (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) will be followed by 200 buyers, 20 percent of them comes from Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea. There will be 15.000 business sessions estimation for three days. There are 150 resorts will be sell, MICE location and facilities supplier will has a chance to meet from table to table.
MICE director of Cultural and Tourism Department, Nia Niscaya explained to the press that Lombok had been decided as Indonesia potential destination. “We cooperate with Amex and able to raise MICE activity for 30 percent,” she said. For all along, there are 10 MICE destinations in Indonesia, those whom are superior are Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Medan, Bukit Tinggi-Padang, Makasar, Solo, Batam and Manado. Meanwhile three potential areas are Lombok, Balik Papan and Bandung.
Head of American Express Corporation Card Group from PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, Perriz Azwir said that his company has 1.800 clients and 75 percent of them is multi-national corporation, 1.000 of them actively held MICE. Every year one company averagely spends Rp 1 Billion. “There is also company whose spend more than that,” he said.
The Committee Head IMCTM 2010, Panca Rudolf Sarungu said that MICE’ actors effort is supporting seven million tourists in 2010. “From business point of view, MICE tourism could result tourist six times larger than normal tourism business,” said Panca.
