All of Bulog – National Logistic Supply – warehouses in Indonesia since firstly built in 1980 never undergone renovation, then, in the next three years, there is plan for it. Not to mention it amount and capacity, Ministry of Trader, Mari Elka Pangestu in Mataram asserted the needs of that bulog warehouse renovation to keep agriculture products.
Mari Elka Pangestu conveyed her plan to renovate that government warehouses after met Nusa Tenggara Barat Governor, Muhammad Zainul Madjiji in his office on Monday (February 15) in the morning. “In order to raise farmer income, revitalization toward warehouse and storage is needed,” she said to the press.
That statement was given after received potential seed explanation from Muhammad Zainul Madjdi in his office room. From Selaparang Airport, with helicopter examine the plantation and farming location in Sumbawa Region.
She viewed that she had already heard NTB’s potential seed such as in mining, fishery and other great potentials. NTB has potential also in corn, rice and soybean but she warn for the management. Starting from its investment, if we talk about agriculture then the next is how we could raise the farmer income. “Especially for the warehouse but for fishery we need storage revitalization,” she said.
It is planned that the government will renovate all warehouses in Indonesia. All of the warehouse already in mapping. In the next three years period we could begin the revitalization. With this warehouse and storage renovation, means that our stuff can be keep longer than before still with a good quality assurance. This demanding issue needs to be taken care as soon as possible considering its condition which is never undergo a renovation since 1980. “So it’s not that hard to imagine the condition,” she said.
After it already in the warehouse, there should be price reference so they will receive proper price. It in another side also could become their guarantee in order to get loan.
Head of Bulog Public Service division NTB, Mahmud Zainal when confirmed regarding the amount of warehouse he has, it was mentioned that there are 40 units of them that could accommodate 99.000 ton. “If it’s about how many of them that should be renovated, we need to inventory it first,” he said.
The same with head of NTB Cooperative and Small Medium Business Agency who stated that in his area there is 80 percent from 124 Village Cooperation Unit who have warehouses with 30-1.000 ton capacity. Since it was built in 1980’s, those warehouses never been renovated. “If there is government plan for conducting renovation then we will do the calculation latter,” he said.
